The Canadian military has responded to "allegations of unusual sounds emanating from the seabed" by sending a surveillance plane to investigate the area near the remote community in Nunavat where the mysterious, underwater pinging was heard.  According to the Department of National Defense, the crew of the CP-140 Aircraft sent to scrutinize the area ran "various multi-sensor searches in the area, including an acoustic search for 1.5 hours, without detecting any acoustic anomalies."
