Mystery Pipe Washes Ashore In New Zealand
A strange pipe has washed ashore in Te Waewae Bay, Southland, New Zealand. The 100 meter object appears to be made of plastic and has metal loops on each end.
Local council Environment Southland and deputy harbourmaster Ian Coard have asked the public for help in identifying the debris. "The object has been washed on to the beach with an incoming tide and we are very keen on some help to figure out what it is," said Coard.
Suggestions as to what it could be so far include an oil boom, or aquaculture boom from a fish or mussel farm.
