Jenny Coleman Named as New Executive Director of International Cryptozoology Museum

The International Cryptozoology Museum in Portland, Maine announced recently that, effective November 1st, Jenny Coleman will take over as the museum’s Executive Director.

Jenny Coleman, wife of well-known cryptozoologist Loren Coleman, has a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maine and spent 20 years working in health care financial services prior to her association with the museum.

In a statement released to Crypto Zoo News, Ms. Coleman was said to have "worked behind the scenes at the Museum, organizing, curating, and maintaining the museum exhibits and off-site archives” for the last five years.

Additionally, said the statement, "She has served on the Board as a Director, been instrumental in the relocation of the Museum to Thompson’s Point, and worked in a frontline capacity at the institution."

She was also the editor of the first International Cryptozoology Society Journal.

The statement explained that the move "demonstrates [The International Cryptozoology Museum's] commitment to reinforcing the role of women in cryptozoology and in the leadership of the field."

Ms. Coleman will supplant the museum's current director, Loren Coleman, who will become the Director Emeritus and President of the Board of the Director.
