Paranormal Researcher, Investigator, and Author Rosemary Ellen Guiley Dies Suddenly at Age 69
Celebrated paranormal researcher, investigator, author, and speaker Rosemary Ellen Guiley died suddenly last Thursday, July 18th at the age of 69, according to sources close to the Singular Fortean Society.
Guiley was the author of over 65 books on the supernatural, including works on paranormal and unexplained phenomena, cryptids, UFOs and alien contact, spiritual and psychic skill development, angels and spirits, spirit communication, afterlife research, dreams and dreamwork, reincarnation and past lives, and other fortean topics.. She was the founder of Visionary Living, Inc., a publishing and media company specializing in the paranormal, served on the boards of various organizations related to consciousness studies and alien contact, and was a founding member of the Afterlife Research and Education Institute.
She was the Executive Editor of Fate Magazine, and was a regular guest on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, with whom she co-authored Talking to the Dead, published in 2011. She made frequent appearances on radio and TV, and was featured in documentaries and docudramas on the History, A&E, SyFy, Discovery, Animal Planet, Destination America, and Travel channels. Her appearances also included a number of paranormal conferences, including Haunted America and the Michigan Paranormal Convention.
Her impact on the paranormal community was profound, and she often collaborated with other researchers and authors; in August 2016 she published Demon Haunted: True Stories from the John Zaffis Vault, with frequent co-presenter and co-author John Zaffis.
Guiley was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award for her work in the paranormal at the 2015 Michigan Paranormal Convention from the Upper Peninsula Paranormal Research Society in Michigan.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Redmiles.
