On March 22nd, Kalynn Wangle of YouTube channel Team Nessie shared a video taken from a webcam overlooking Loch Ness in which a dark object appears to move beneath the surface of the loch before surfacing, only to disappear from view behind a tree.

The video was originally recorded between 4:15 p.m. and 4:17 p.m. GMT, said Wangle.

Wangle, an American, shared the footage after finding it via a live webcam hosted by Nessie on the Net, a website devoted to the Loch Ness Monster.

"On the lovely day of March 17th, a dark shape appears very close to the shore, and is seen moving from left to right. At first it moves slow like a wave, but as it moves closer to the tree, it seems as though the dark shape has surfaced for a few seconds, or maybe it's swimming just below it. Once it moves behind the tree, it doesn't come back," said Wangle of the video.

Reactions to the video have been largely noncommittal, with most viewers admitting that there isn’t enough evidence within it to make a firm determination one way or another.

"You know I’m a believer my friend, but due to the terrible quality of the webcam no identification can be confidently put forward. I want this to be Nessie but I reckon it’s natural phenomena," one viewer commented. "Roll on April, I’ve got all my plans sorted for a few days camping around the Loch!"

This is Wangle’s second such video of 2021. The first was recorded on January 11th at 11:42 a.m. GMT, when Wangle "noticed something in the water" that "only lasts a few seconds."

In that video, said Wangle, "A 'V' shaped wake seems to appear near the front on the left side, followed by a black object surfacing less than 10 seconds later, and only for a split second, then it's gone!"

The January 11th video is available here.

So far this year there have been six sightings of a mysterious object in Loch Ness, according to the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register. The most recent came just days after Wangle shared her latest video, when Leeds woman Roslyn Casey submitted an image of a dark object in the loch.

All six sightings can be seen at the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register’s website.
