Singular Cerebrations: Haunted Holidays

I've always felt that there was something magical about the holidays; not in the vague, happy sense of which most people think, but in a strange, significant way.  The same way that an elf-haunted section of forest or an old church at midnight is magical.  Our pagan ancestors must have thought so, too, because they put quite an emphasis on the season.  Sure, some of it might have been to drive away the winter doldrums, but I like to think that there really is something special about this time of year.

In that vein, I'd like to dedicate this month to the magic of the holidays.  We'll be looking into how elves managed to get themselves wrapped up in the story of Christmas, and how that ties together with faerie lore and the season's pagan roots.  I think it's going to be a good time, and I hope you're all as interested in the subject as I am.  If you have any thoughts on the subject, as always, contact us here or comment below.  Otherwise, sit back, relax, and enjoy the fortean festivities with us this holiday season.

Yours in Impossibility,

Tobias
