Madison Ghost Walks Sneak Preview (Science Hall)
We were recently treated to a special sneak preview of Madison Ghost Walks' upcoming University of Wisconsin-Madison tour, and we thought we'd share a little of what we learned while we were there. One of the first stops we made on the tour was the UW's notorious Science Hall. The current building sits on the ashes of its predecessor, which burnt down in 1884. Construction of the new Science Hall completed in 1887, having claimed the life of one worker. The building served as home to the Anatomy Department until 1956, but careless organization meant that human remains were still being found in the building's nooks and crannies as recently as 1974. It's said that the unsettled spirits of the cadavers still roam the halls, and rumor has it that certain security and custodial staff still refuse to work the night shift.
We've barely even managed to disturb the graveyard dirt of Science Hall's haunted past here, and to find out more we encourage you to join the tour's ghost host with the most, Lisa, beginning this Friday for the full campus tour. The tour starts at 7:30 p.m., and you can purchase tickets in advance through Madison Ghost Walks' website.
