Reports from the Void: 'I Saw Something Strange'

The Singular Fortean Society received the following account in an email on January 2nd, 2019.

Me and my girlfriend were driving to work a few nights back, it was about 8pm so it was dark outside but there were streetlights on, so the road was still well lit.

We were driving down the road that we work on, and I noticed one area in front of some parked cars was very dark, but didn't really pay too much attention to it, until we got closer and this whole black mass glided across the road and disappeared into a car. Again, I thought it was a trick of the light or my eyes playing a trick on me. That was until my girlfriend said to me "please tell me you saw that too", that's when I instantly got the spooks.

Whatever it was that glided across the road was black, and when I say black I mean it was the blackest black you can imagine. When I thought about it more, the more I realized it wasn't just a shadow, as the headlights of the car would have eliminated a shadow, and even her headlights didn't reflect off the cars behind it.

I have been attempting to research what it could have been, but it has been to no avail and nobody seems to believe me on the internet. I wasn't sure if it was something paranormal, something to do with negative, or dark energy, a portal into the abyss; I honestly have no idea.

The edges of it seemed to disperse into nothing, as if it was mist, and it was about the size of a small bear, small but round. It was something that I will never, ever forget. And me being a skeptic, I only believe things that I see with my own eyes. The building we work in is very old with a rich history, and recently the whole energy of the workplace has just gone and everybody here is really struggling, I wasn't sure if it could be something to do with that?

Anyway, I was given this link from a question I posted about it online, and it seems to be my best bet.

If you'd like to hear more information about it, I'd be willing to offer every bit of information I can as I would really like to come to a decision of what it was.

No response was received regarding the initial request made by the Singular Fortean Society to discuss the witness’ account further.
