Photos of Australian 'UFO Crash' Taken from Set of Syfy Show 'Hunters'
Photographs sent to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) as proof of an extraterrestrial craft having crashed in the Macedon Ranges of Australia have been found to actually be prop pieces from the set of a Syfy Channel television show called Hunters, which is filmed in Australia.
The photographs were attached to MUFON case #99500, and accompanied by the following description of events:
I was talking to my sons friends and saying that i had in the past seen things that made me believe that ufo's exist. one of them sent me these pictures of their friends who were out on motor bikes in the macedon ranges where they came upon a crashed ufo. they took some pictures that i am sending to you. they called some friends and told them they would come and pick them up to show them the objet. when they returned t a few hours later he site had been cleaned and there was no remains of the object. there was some police barrier tape but everything else was gone. they did take some pictures with their phones before and after.
In addition to the photo featured above, two more images were provided by the sender.
The case was quickly picked up by sites like UFO Stalker and Texas UFOs.
"What do you think these pictures show? A man-made structure, perhaps a tree house or even a movie set? Or something more alien than that?" asked Texas UFOs.
The photos were shared to Texas UFOs’ Facebook page on April 3rd, where they were quickly debunked.
"It's from the TV series Hunters. It can be seen in S1E06 Bunker Soldier and possibly other episodes," commented one reader.
It is unclear at this time whether the men in the photos—and the person(s) who submitted them—were knowingly perpetrating a hoax, or if they genuinely believed that the props represented something from another world.
