Mysterious "Entities" Purportedly Captured on Camera in San Vicente, Mexico

Mexican journalist and UFO enthusiast Jaime Maussan released a video earlier this month that he claims captured two entities descending into what appears to be a junkyard in San Vicente, Chicoloapan, Mexico. The video shows what is likely one object distorted by motion blur—although it has been reported as two “entities” positioned next to each other—which appears to float just above the ground before changing direction and heading off camera after being confronted by three dogs.

Maussan released the video as part of the March 10th episode of Maussan TV on YouTube, but the footage from which it was taken was shot on February 23rd at around 1:30 a.m.

Many might remember Maussan as the man behind the infamous Roswell Slides debacle of 2015, in which a photograph of an indigenous boy’s remains taken in a Colorado museum was presented as proof of extraterrestrial life, or the equally contentious Nazca Mummies, which Maussan again claimed were extraterrestrial, despite a report from the Paleo DNA laboratory at Lakehead University, Ontario, Canada, that showed DNA samples taken from one of the Peruvian mummies was a 100% match with human DNA.

This latest evidential offering from Maussan features a voice-over attributed to journalist Carlos Clemente, who, according to Mexican news outlet Pásala, says, “These are two humanoid-shaped entities […] They approach a few centimeters from the ground and could possibly have walked.”

The footage, which is just two minutes of a 36-minute security video, ends as the purported entities seem to float off-screen.

"At that moment, the smallest entity is seen completely from the side together with the largest one and it is possible to appreciate them perfectly against the light," Clemente concludes. "It is an extraordinary image that reveals a mysterious aspect of the world that we do not see."

Viewers of the video were quick to point out the low quality of the footage, although speculation that the object is not physically present and was caused by a camera glitch is countered by the dogs seemingly reacting to it.

Still, the slow frame rate has distorted whatever might be present in the footage until it is unrecognizable.

“Motion blur can even be seen affecting the dogs, which is further evidence of the camera’s slow frame rate and supports the idea that the ‘entities’ are a single object affected similarly,” Singular Fortean Society photo and video analyst Emily Wayland said. “Also, many security cameras are of limited range due to affordability and their quality falls off considerably outside of that range. There’s usually only a certain area that [their owners] care about.”

So far, the most popular skeptical explanation among viewers is that the object is a partially deflated Mylar balloon floating near the ground.

“We can’t get a good look at the object, but its movement leads me to believe it could definitely be a balloon,” said Wayland of that explanation.
