Paranormal Podcasters Announce Premiere of Documentary Set in California’s Anza-Borrego Desert

Paranormal podcasters Derek Hayes of Monsters Among Us and David Flora of Blurry Photos will host a premiere for their documentary, Shadows in the Desert: High Strangeness in the Borrego Triangle.

The premiere is set for August 17th at 5 p.m. at the Rustic Theatre in Idyllwild, California (invitation only). Immediately following the screening of the film, Hayes and Flora will participate in a Q&A to answer audience questions about the making of the film. There will be a second screening directly following the Q&A, starting at 8:30 p.m., that is open to the public.

“Creating this film has been a journey, we're excited to finally premiere it to audiences, and to do so in Idyllwild. It’s going to be special,” Hayes said.

Shadows in the Desert: High Strangeness in the Borrego Triangle is a feature length documentary about the paranormal and mysterious stories and encounters in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park area. The film centers around Hayes and Flora exploring old west ghost stories, sasquatch encounters, UFO reports, and ties to Native American legends and artifacts, all while showcasing the landscape, folklore, biology and residents along the way.

“I’m thrilled to finally be able to release this passion project that Derek and I have been working on for the past four years! I hope it showcases this gorgeous area and its stories well,” Flora said.

This world premiere event is by invitation-only. Shadows in the Desert: High Strangeness in the Borrego Triangle will be available on streaming platforms later this year.
