Pesky Poltergeist Scares Scottish Mother and Son

A local resident of Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, has recently reported a case of a spirit so creepy it even spooked the cops.  When officers were called to the scene of the disturbance by frightened single mom, Catherine Shreenan, they witnessed several spectacular displays of poltergeist puissance; including objects being thrown across the room, lights turning off and on seemingly of their own volition, and even the family Chihuahua being teleported atop a seven-foot hedge. 

Not only did the mortified mother and her teenage son not have any explanation for the events, but the police officers that arrived on the scene were equally baffled.  Naturally, the event has drawn paranormal investigators and demonologists alike, yet so far no source for the phenomenon has been found.  What do you think?  Is this an otherworldly entity, or is there a more mundane explanation for the seemingly spiritual sideshow?
