Maritime Monster Haunts Humber River

The Humber Monster is said to have "a head the size of an elephant, six humps, and flashing eyes," and reportedly dwells somewhere in the depths of Hull's Humber River on the eastern coast of England.  Stories dating back to the 1920s tell of trawlermen in Hull who were terrorized by the beastly sea creature.  Historian Mike Covell of Humber Monster Watch aims to track down the monster in advance of Hull being named the UK's City of Culture in 2017.  Although, with the last sighting having been reported in the 1930s, one must wonder if this could be merely an attempt at publicity given the timing of Hull's upcoming award.  What do you think?  Is there some marine monstrosity roaming the Humber River, or is this an attempt to draw attention to the UK's new City of Culture?
