Paranormal Pop Culture: The Dover Demon by Hunter Shea

Author Hunter Shea used the real-life 1977 sightings of a strange creature outside of Dover, Massachusetts as the inspiration for his novel The Dover Demon.  Shea changes the names of the teens involved in the original sighting, but continues their story according to his own vision.  In his version of their future, they've grown up, formed relationships, had children, and are inexorably led back into the mystery of the Dover Demon as one of the original witness's sons is abducted while researching the infamous cryptid.  Shea expands on the case by incorporating elements of UFO lore, including a race of deadly subterranean creatures.  This book falls firmly in the horror genre, so expect the darker aspects of cryptids and ufology.
