Fortean Quote: Mothman the Trickster

Charles Fort was fond of blaming unusual phenomena on his literary creation the 'cosmic joker,' but this tongue in cheek description of the universe's mysterious nature may have been more accurate than he knew.  The Mothman phenomenon is an example of the kind of confluence of bizarre paranormal activity that could lead one to believe that some force seems to delight in playing tricks on us.  One of the few things that the 2002 film The Mothman Prophecies captured accurately about those events was the strange behavior of the associated phenomena, which seemed designed to manipulate the people involved; to what end, though, has yet to be determined.
