Did you realize there were five Fridays this month?  Neither did we.  Please enjoy this call to action.

Did you realize there were five Fridays this month?  Neither did we.  Please enjoy this call to action.

Clever image captions aside, we need your help.  We believe strongly in our dual-focused mission of providing high quality journalism and community building, but we can't do it without you.  We want all of you forteans out there to join our society, because without you there isn't one.

Right about now you might be asking yourself, "Okay.  How does one go about joining this fabulous society of which you speak?"

I'm glad you asked.  You can be a part of the Singular Fortean Society in a variety of ways.  You can start by signing up for our monthly email newsletter.  It's that thing that pops up whenever you visit the home page, and it's the best way to ensure that you don't miss any of that month's forays into the fortean.

If you've got something to say about the strange, the unusual, the paranormal, or the fortean, then consider being a guest blogger.  It's a great way to get your thoughts and opinions out there regarding whatever supernatural subject you like, and if you've got your own project to plug, well, that's what being a community is all about.  Just write us on our contact page, or reach out at info@singularfortean.com for more information.  There's no experience required, so don't be shy.

For those of you who are a little more visually gifted, we have a beautiful new art portal full of some of the best paranormal artists around.  We want to help people see your work, and in doing so enrich the fortean community we love so much.  We feature one artist each month, and present their work across social media and in a blog post, but your profile with examples of your work and links to personal projects and websites stays up for as long as you like.  It's been very favorably received so far, and we're over the moon about getting to work with so many talented artists.

We're also on the lookout for exciting, entertaining, informative podcasts and shows that deal with the unexplained for our new paranormal media portal.  So far we've added Restricted Access, a weekly YouTube broadcast that I think anybody likely to be reading this would absolutely adore.  The paranormal media portal will be set up very similar to the artist's portal, with the main difference being that we'll add a link to each new episode to your profile as it airs.  Email us at info@singularfortean.com to have us feature your podcast or show, or just to recommend one of your favorites; and to our friends that already have their own, expect to hear from us soon.

The subjects we cover here in the Singular Fortean Society, and the community that surrounds them, mean a lot to me.  Being in a position to do what we do here is a blessing, and the work itself is nothing less than a calling.  Believe me, I appreciate each and every one of you, and I know that together we can continue to support each other and make this community great.  I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours in Impossibility,

Tobias Wayland
