Woman Reports Sightings of Triangular UFO and "Huge Flatworm" in New Jersey

I was contacted recently by a woman named Linda who wanted to share an unusual experience she’d had while out driving one night in New Jersey.

According to Linda, around 1989 or 1990, she was returning from a friend’s house at around 11 p.m. when she witnessed something otherworldly.

"He lived just on the other side of Bamber Lake in Lacey Township, New Jersey," she said. "I stopped at the intersection of Lacey Road and Phillips Road. I was looking for traffic, but not surprising at that hour, in that place, there was none."

Since she was in no real hurry, she lingered for a moment, and that's when something caught her eye just above the trees to her left, over the lake.

"It was barely moving and was totally silent," Linda said of the unidentified flying object. "There were colored lights flashing sporadically and some stationary white lights on the underside of the craft. It appeared to be triangular in shape, although I could not see the front or the back due to the trees on both sides of the road. It was HUGE."

Linda could see portions of the UFO's underside as its lights flashed on, spotting what looked like piping of some kind under the hull. She wondered if these were simply corrugations as she watched the craft float across Lacey Road, continuing above the tree line.

"Then, it was gone," she said. "I’m not sure how, whether it took off or just dematerialized."

A map provided by Linda that shows the location of her UFO sighting.

At the time, Linda was unaware that mysterious triangular craft were being reported as UFOs.

"Because we were very near the Navy base in Lakehurst, I think I had convinced myself that it was some kind of experimental aircraft that the Navy was working on. It was only since then that I was made aware of the triangular UFOs. I now believe that was what I saw," she recounted.

The experience has stayed with Linda over the years, occasionally resurfacing in traumatic ways.

"The odd thing is, I watched the first episode of Investigation Alien on Netflix a little while back," she told me. "The episode was on animal mutilation, so I was shocked when they interviewed this guy who described, almost to a T, what I had seen. I had this visceral reaction to it. My heart was racing, and I had trouble catching my breath. I was close to tears."

This impact has even resulted in a block when she tries to relate her experience.

"Through the years I have had so much trouble describing what I saw. I am an artist, but try as I might, I cannot draw it either," she added.

Oddly enough, this isn’t the only unusual encounter Linda has had in the area. Not long before her sighting of the triangular UFO, she witnessed a truly bizarre creature only a few miles away.

Linda was again driving home late one night when she spotted something strange in the middle of the road about halfway between Forked River and the intersection where she later saw the UFO.

"As I got closer, I saw that it looked like something coiled on the road," she said.

Upon approach, she realized that about three feet of the thing was extending up from the coil.

"I thought it was a snake until I started passing it," she explained. "I saw that it was flat about five inches in width with eyes on either side of the flatness about five inches apart. The eyes were about the height of my car window, and it turned and watched me pass. When I passed it was about a foot from my window. I do not remember if the eyes were glowing or not."

She said the creature looked like "a huge flatworm. The body was semi-opaque but more solid on the sides."

Like many witnesses, Linda has been met with ridicule when sharing her experiences, but that hasn't diminished her belief in what she saw.

"I have recounted this many times since then but got the usual eye rolls," she said. "I did see this and since that time I totally believe that cryptids can and do exist. Nothing surprises me now."

Furthermore, there might be something unusual about the area itself.

“That stretch of road always felt odd,” she said. “It was just an eerie road to travel at night.”
