Humanoid 'UFO' Recorded over Glasgow, Scotland
Glasgow Live was contacted by local woman Lynsey Currie last week who sent the news outlet a video of an unusual object recorded flying over the Maryhill neighborhood of Glasgow, Scotland by her boyfriend.
During the video, which appears to have been shot through a telescope, an object can be seen floating across the sky while Currie’s boyfriend films it.
At one point he says, “It's literally a UFO because it's unidentified. It's coming by us,” after which he speculates on what it might be.
“That must be like a weather balloon or something,” he said. “It’s like too big to be a drone.”
A drone seems especially unlikely, since temporary airspace restrictions are in place over Glasgow for the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference.
The restrictions last from October 30th through November 13th, and according to a statement released by the Civil Aviation Authority and Police Scotland, include “all aircraft, including hot air balloons and drones.”
According to Currie, the object was "flying across the sky going from the northwest of Glasgow towards the southwest."
No time or date for the sighting was included in Glasgow Live’s report, although the Daily Record reported that the object had been filmed the week prior to its release, placing the sighting sometime near the end of October.
Without the precise time and date, it is all but impossible to determine if the object was moving with the wind or against it.
The most popular prosaic explanation so far is that the object was a humanoid Halloween party balloon which was released to float over Glasgow—accidentally or otherwise. However, without more information, no firm determination can be made.
