UFO Recorded over Curitiba, Brazil

A video that appears to show a UFO hovering over the city of Curitiba, Brazil, was shared anonymously to YouTube late last month.

The video was posted by YouTube channel ‘Zona Desconhecida (Unknown Zone)’ and lasts only 45 seconds, but in that time an unidentified flying object can be seen in the sky over the city.

According to the video's description, "I never believed in UFOs until last Sunday, 21/07/24. When I filmed this unidentified object, at first, I thought it was a drone, but it had no propellers. Then I thought it was a balloon, but the trajectory was in a straight line and suddenly something similar to 'landing gear' appeared."

The person who posted the video to YouTube was also the witness and added additional sighting details in the comments.

They said that they had spotted the object while driving and pursued it as it “followed a straight trajectory” above Francisco Derosso Street. Once they reached the end of that street, which terminates in a railway line, they exited their vehicle to continue watching the object.

The witness claims to have a further 15 minutes of footage they took of the object but has not yet responded to requests to post it.

They did, however, post another 45-second video, along with more information about the sighting.

“When I returned from a bakery on Sunday ... I saw an object in the sky that I couldn't understand what it was. I have a Nikon B 700 with 60x zoom, and I stopped the car and started recording. Then I went with the car further ahead to the end of the street and recorded a little more as far as possible,” the witness said in the more recent video’s description.

Reactions to the videos have been mixed, with some believing the object to potentially represent something paranormal while others remain skeptical.

Some skeptics have speculated that the object is likely to be either a drone or a balloon. While the object’s size and appearance might not fit the drone hypothesis, a balloon is not outside the realm of possibility.

One commenter shared a video of a star-shaped solar balloon that did bear a resemblance to the object filmed by this witness.

It’s worth noting that this sighting took place on a busy street, but nobody else can be seen reacting to the object in either video, nor have any videos taken by other witnesses at the scene yet been shared. Although, to be fair, it is difficult to accurately assess exactly what is happening around the person filming due to both the videos’ brevity and their focus on the object.

As for the witness themself, they have not stated definitively that the object is otherworldly, only that they are “curious to know what it’s all about.”
