'UFO' Caught on Camera During Airshow for Queen of England's Platinum Jubilee
An unidentified flying object was caught on camera June 2nd during an airshow over Buckingham Palace in London, England.
The Royal Air Force (RAF) conducted the flyover to help celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, marking the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne.
The mysterious spherical object was recorded during the event from several angles by multiple outlets, including Sky News and Big Jet TV, and following the object’s appearance, observant viewers began sharing the videos to social media.

An object appears at around 57:20 in this video shared to Big Jet TV’s YouTube channel.
The object is below the jets as they pass overhead and seems to be relatively small in size.
Reception to the videos have so far been mixed, with some explaining the object away as a bird, drone, or lens flare.
Those explanations have received plenty of pushback, as other viewers argue that the object doesn’t look or behave like a bird, appears to be moving very quickly relative to the jets, and multiple camera angles should rule out light reflecting off of a camera lens.
Notably, the airspace was heavily restricted in that area at the time, which means no commercial or civilian aircraft could have been legally operating there when the video was recorded.
However, according to one anonymous YouTube user, none of this rules out a relatively stationary object like a balloon.
"The apparent motion of the white object filmed during the airshow portion of the Queen's Jubilee is due to the relative motion of the helicopter filming the jets and the perspective that creates," Bytefluent wrote in their description of the following video. "I suspect the object is something ordinary, like a balloon or a drone."
So far, a misidentified balloon is the most popular explanation for the object, especially considering the number of parties featuring balloons as decorations that took place in the city.
It’s possible that a stray party balloon, which have been known to achieve altitudes of up to several miles, was floating in the area during the RAF flyover.
This argument wasn’t enough to convince every viewer, some of whom assumed it was an attempt to dismiss the object out of hand, and officially, the object remains unidentified.
