A UFO seemingly comprised of several lights filmed on March 24th over Daejeon, South Korea, could have a simple explanation, according to the Singular Fortean Society’s Emily Wayland.

The video, uploaded to YouTube by user ‘Twine,’ was filmed on a dashcam and seems to show three lights suddenly appear in the sky around the :30 second mark, before blinking out within a few seconds.

"UFO sightings on the way home from work," the video's description read. "Compared to the star on the right, it's quite a long distance ... I think it's happening in space."

Careful review of the video reveals that “the streetlights and other sources of illumination are reflecting off of the car’s hood, and could be similarly reflecting off of the camera’s lens,” said Wayland.

Several lights can be seen reflecting off of the hood just before and after the ‘UFO’ comes and goes, something that corresponds with the the vehicle rounding a curve in the road. The motion of the car could have allowed some of the external lights present along the roadway to momentarily reflect off of the lens—accounting for the relatively sudden appearance and subsequent disappearance of the ‘UFO.’

“It seems likely that what we’re seeing is the reflection of lights off of the dashcam’s lens,” Wayland explained. “You can see them first reflecting off of the hood, then ‘appearing’ in the sky as they reflect off of the lens, before once again reflecting off of the hood as the car rounds a curve. Barring other evidence, I’d say in this case, the simplest answer is correct.”

It is unclear at this time if the lights were visible to the naked eye, something that would “absolutely change” her opinion of the video evidence, added Wayland.
