UFO Reportedly Caught on Camera by Passenger during Flight over Colombia
YouTuber Ensaladilla posted a video to the site just over a week ago that appears to show an unidentified flying object.
Ensaladilla told The Hidden Underbelly that the video came from Spanish-language forum Forocoches.
While they do not personally know the individual who originally posted it, the video was reportedly recorded on a flight from Bogotá to Salento in Colombia.
“I don't know the exact date [the video was recorded] but in the forum thread the user says that the friends who filmed it passed it on to their WhatsApp group, so it was recently,” Ensaladilla said.
The Hidden Underbelly then posted the video to their own channel, where it has so far received over 25,000 views.
Those skeptical of the video have posited that the object is a mylar balloon, although others have different opinions.
"There is NO wobble as would be expected with a balloon. It is flying PERFECTLY straight. This looks a lot like the saucers that have been seen over the years over Mexico and Mount Popo," one person commented. "Amazing!"
Several viewers compared the footage to the GIMBAL video recorded during a series of encounters had by Navy pilots who were part of the VFA-11 "Red Rippers" squadron out of Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia. The pilots said that incidents involving unidentified flying objects were an “almost daily” occurrence from the summer of 2014 through March 2015.
One such commenter even compared the object to a craft they claimed to have seen in California.
"Looks a lot like the [GIMBAL], which is the sort of craft I witnessed in L.A. in 1980,” they said. “I watched it hover completely still for ten minutes on a clear December morning, around 9AM, probably at about 150-200 feet. I estimated it had a diameter of twelve to fifteen feet. It had a military insignia on the underside that read US Air Force, so it could very well have been one of ours. I don't know if it was back engineered or not. And I don't know if it was aliens pranking us. After ten minutes of hovering, it darted off southbound like a bullet. I've never seen anything accelerate so fast and I've seen missile tests over the Pacific.”
The recently recorded object shared by Ensaladilla is similar to another UFO reported over Colombia this year.
That object was recorded by pilot Jorge A. Arteaga while he was flying a Beechcraft King Air during the aircraft’s approach of Medellín, Colombia.
"The video is authentic; it was recorded by me at [1 p.m.]. First there was an approach with the object that was static floating at a specific point between Medellín and Santa Fe, it passed me on one side with the co-pilot who came with me," Arteaga said.
We had been approaching Medellín at the moment the object moved and approached us. When that happens, I said to Daniel, my co-pilot, “did you see, did you hear?”, he tells me yes, they are part of the trade, I said no, then I turn around and when I give the 360, which is the first video I have, I see the static object floating.
When I'm recording the video, the alleged UFO moves a bit, then I start hunting it with the plane, and when I'm approaching it, the object moves towards us, at that moment is when I dodge it. I am flying at 130 to 140 knots, at a speed with respect to 150 knots; if we multiply it is more than 300 kilometers per hour.
I passed very close to that and if it had been a balloon, no more [than] the mere wake of the plane would have finished it or taken it out of the point where it was. That's why I stayed, I stayed and [the object] did not go away, (it was not flown) and I said no, I have to look for it and it cannot be a solar balloon.
Ultimately, Arteaga concluded, “The object has no strip, it has nothing, a helium balloon doesn't go up there, I was actually afraid. That's not some kind of balloon, or drone, or an object known to me.”
Despite Arteaga’s testimony, the most popular skeptical explanation for that UFO was also a balloon.
